all 70 first year architecture students, both grad and undergrad, worked together to expand the possible use of an existing site off of the blackstone river in pawtucket, ri. although we may have only built off of the original blossom site, we were able to add proper runoff drainage, a community fire pit, benches made from reclaimed materials, retaining walls at the river bank, and a floating platform on the river. it may have been more of a landscaping project, but there was a strong emphasis on a person’s movement and circulation around the site, as well as programatic concerns of how each area of the site was meant to be used.
